Kids at Play

I love watching the kids gather together on Saturday evening.

They were playing marbles the other weekend.

Last night, they were playing snap.
Don't ask me how snap is played with more than 2 players.
Somehow they figured it out.

I took a picture of MyGirl, taking a picture of her cousins taking pictures of themselves.

Apparently, in that short span of time,
these kids managed to take 96 'selfies'!

Kids these days!

4 Pics, 1 Word

MyGirl introduced me to the game
4 PICS 1 WORD

I love the homographs.

We found a way to go around the hard questions.
Compare common letters and guess the word,

I was ahead at this point.
Mom - 493, MyGirl - 485

But I got stuck at the 500.
And MyGirl was at 510.
Having all the letters certainly helps.

I was almost impressed
but then I came across this one..

So much for being AWESOME.

It's a Bug's Life

This is some random person's house number.

Do you think he/she likes insects?

How many bugs do you see?

New Pope, New Hope

When I checked my cellphone this morning, I had a message from London Eye.
She was advising me that a new pope had been elected.
It was the evening of 13 March 2013 in London (and in the Vatican).
I turned the TV on watched as the new pope emerged from the balcony.

I cried.

I was brought back to April 2005.
Pope John Paul II has just passed away.

I also cried then.

Many things were happening then.
Many things are happening now.

Today we have a new pope.
I will take this as a sign of new hope.

Viva il Papa!

One Size Does Not Fit All

As RD was getting ready to go out this morning, he tried to put his shoes on.  He couldn't quite get them on.  He wondered whether his socks were too thick.

After a while, he realised the problem was not the socks he was wearing but the shoes he was trying to wear.

"Oh!  These are size '6'.  Mine are size '9.'"

Can you guess which of the two brothers has bigger feet?

Find Your Mojo

Meet Mojo.

Mojo belongs to my High School classmate Mae.

There is a painting of Mojo by Mae's daughter in their living room.

I wanted to show the painting to RD when we brought the two younger kids to Mae's place.

"RD, do you want to see the painting of the dog?"

"Sure,"  he replied.   RD was excited.  In fact, he was unusually excited.

When he returned from the living room, he was a tad disappointed.  Apparently, he thought it was a painting BY the dog, not OF the dog.

I couldn't help but laugh.
