I made some teriyaki sauce for the fish we cooked for dinner yesterday. This sauce will be enough for several meals, so we'll probably have chicken teriyaki one of these days.
Below is the recipe I used. I usually only do half the recipe but I wanted to finish off the mirin before it 'died' on me, so we ended up with two small containers of sauce.
- Teriyaki glaze
- 250ml soy sauce
- 200ml mirin
- 200ml sake
- 60g sugar
- 2T molasses
1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and heat gently until the sugar completely dissolves.
2. Remove from heat and allow to cool. This will keep for months in the refrigerator.
Check out the label c/o MyGirl. She's learning Hiragana, aside from the language.
For those who can't read Japanese, it says, "3rd Month 29th Day; TERIYAKI"
